Intended Use of IPO Proceeds and Survival of Listed Companies in Malaysia

In the context of Malaysian companies’ survival, potential role intended use proceeds as an influential factor remains unfamiliar. This study examines link between IPO and survival 423 listed companies over period 2000–2014. distinguishes into three segregations: growth opportunities, debt repayment, working capital. Employing Accelerated Failure Time (AFT) model, overall evidence shows a statistically significant effect for opportunities repayment on post-IPO survival. Furthermore, company was found to be consistently improved when they allocated less than 50% their proceeds, regardless purposes (growth, repay or general).
